The Region
We've settled down in the backcountry of the Costa Cálida. This is Spain as it is known for its nativeness, its zest for life, for its hospitality. This we have truly experienced ourselves in the past years. Puerto Lumbreras is no tourist attraction by itself, but a town in which you can quickly feel at home in. This is surely supported by the regional microclimate: dry hot summers and mild winters. More than 3000 hours of sunshine fulfil the dreams of us "moteros". The temperatures range from 25°C to 40°C from spring to autumn and even during the winter, which actually doesn't take place here, temperate 12°C-19°C invite you to ride enduros here. This is an ideal place therefore to escape the cold moisture and the greyness of northern latitudes. Ride motorbikes all year long. Not so much during the hottest part of the summer, but all the more so during the cooler part of the year. A broad acceptance of enduro sports by the population makes many things possible for us that have long since become part of the past in Central Europe. The airport next to us is Alicante. "Look and you will understand" or as our Spanish friends say: "With certainty one of the best places in Spain for el moto de campo."
